reasons that discharge occurs from IOP/PHP/residential

There are a few main reasons:

• treatment completion / step down to a lower level of care
• left against staff advice
• transfer
  • I assume this can either be a transfer to another facility providing the same level of care, or a step up to a higher level of care
• administrative discharge / involuntary discharge — staff-directed involuntary termination of treatment services; terminating a person from treatment against their wishes and counter to treatment needs; discharge due to non-compliance with program policies
