Thought experiment: if resources weren't an issue, things that would help me get better wifi include:
- learn: being able to filter things in Wireshark. This would let me do longer-term scanning, as well as mobile data collection.
- equipment: a better antenna (we need better transmit and receive)
- learn: be able to figure out whether the receive signal is my main weakness, or my transmit signal is my main weakness (or if they're approximately equal)
(If it's transmit, then I can get a more powerful transmitter / use an amplifier. For all other circumstances, the only thing I can do is get a better antenna)
Wi-Spy, crazy expensive
