Soldering

So your card only has an internal antenna, it doesn't have an external connector. Is there any way you can hack your own?

Yes, but it's tricky (you can damage your transmitter if too much power is reflected back — the impedance discontinuity at the solder point must not be too large (cool animations)).

You need to be somewhat experienced with soldering before jumping in.

Crimp-on

If your radio already uses RF coax cable to transfer the signal from the board to the antenna, you can cut the antennas off, and crimp an RF connector onto the coax cable. (pictures)
