I don't know if there's a "silver bullet" for finding a wiki's first post, but there's several things to try:
- look at MediaWiki default's contributions
- loko at the page history of pages that usually always get edited when a new wiki starts up
- use api.php to search for the earliest log entry (doesn't seem to work very well. Is the logging table periodically purged out like the recentchanges table is?)
