Synergy is *exactly* what I've been looking for for a while (KVM without the V). (also, it makes my testing at work
MUCH easier). However:

    - there haven't been any new official releases for two years[1],
and there's been no code changes for six months[2]
    - the comment board + bug tracker shows lots of recent use by users
    - in particular, users are complaining about bugs not being fixed[3]
    - but, at least the lead dev (Chris) was recently alive and updating things[4]

And there's a few enhancements I'd like to see made:

    - there should be a way to do visually highlight which screen the mouse is on... either as an
ongoing option, or just as an action that can be assigned to a hotkey
(on the other hand, you CAN just turn on the "mouse trails" feature)
(THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE, particularly once you get to 5, 6, or more screens... it's
far too easy to lose the mouse, particularly when there's minor bugs that sometimes
                    hide the mouse cursor)

    - add a "move mouse to center of screen" as a hotkey action. Allowing only for "move focus to
computer $x" means that sometimes your mouse is right on the edge, and when you move it just a
slight bit, you sometimes accidentally move the mouse to the next computer over before you've
      visually found the cursor

    - you should be able to right-click on the tray-icon, and change the configuration right there
(instead of having to start a new instance, make the changes, and then go to the first
            instance and say "reload configuration")

    - research whether it's possible to copy-n-paste files across (it synchronizes all the other
      clipboard bits!)
