B is cool, but it's read-only. Several modules have been created that allow you to do what B does, but do writes as well as reads.

• B::Generate (it's not necessarily easy to use however)
• Code::Perl — rather than manipulating code an opcode level, it lets you manipulate it at a parsetree level
• B::Hooks::*
