scientific-ish cooking creators

I've heard people like Christopher Kimball and Alton Brown described as "on the more science-y end of the enjoyment  science spectrum of cooking".

Some other folks that are like this:

More "B-list" cooks, in terms of how well-known and revered they are by other top cooks. I think they're fabulous though.

Why are there so few women on this list?
