With enough help from others, you can learn and do almost anything. People have accomplished amazing things inside the confines of their garage.

But to accomplish such lofty goals, you must:

• be determined to see the task through to the end
• be clear-minded and goal-oriented
• be very efficient, but be able to recognize when you need to stop and think the situation through
• be self-motivated, have the stamina to wake up early and work hard, even if everyone else is still asleep
• be absolutely professional
• be honest with yourself, realistically assess cost and schedule
• be aware of all safety issues, and be willing to spend the time to address them
• have friends who can give encouragement and advice
