I usually open Google Voice in a separate browser, since it's under a different Google account.

On the phone, I do most of my browsing under the default browser ("Internet"), and use Google Voice under Chrome.

Design goals:

have a shortcut on the desktop that launches Google Voice
the shortcut should open the website in Chrome, not the default browser [2]
the shortcut should go to the desktop version of the website (so that I can access the "History" feature, so that I can block those fuckin' spammers)

To make all of those work, do this:
