I dislike the fact that my cats are forced to stay indoors 24/7. Whie I don't want them to be outdoor cats, I do want them to be able to get outside once in a while. Keeping them locked up inside seems very boring, I feel like it's a bit of a prison to keep someone in a small space their whole lives.

One thing cats learn right away is that it's easy to slip through certain types of fences, and humans / dogs / cats / other scary things aren't able to get through those fences. In the city, fences are EVERYWHERE. And those fences often have locked gates, and neighbors who are unhappy when you break into their yard.
