Searching for progressive news sources

My requirements:

• be progressive in general, or possibly far left (see services that rate news sources by political bias)
• have some journalistic standards:
  • avoid name-calling or otherwise resorting to ad hominems
  • avoid emotive language for the most part
• not be toooo shrill or polemical
