product search for notes apps
These must have a browser-based app, and ideally an Android app as well. It needs to have a free-tier that's actually viable, and any upgrades should be fairly cheap.
pro — I'm fairly comfortable with and it and enjoy using it, for the most part.
Update Dec 2022 — Its syncing feature has stopped working for me. I can update a note within the web app, or within the mobile app, but the two don't talk to each other anymore.
con — It's slightly buggy and slightly less polished than, say, Google Docs.
You basically have to treat it as a "Vim text editor that includes synchronization", and come up with your own symbology for indicating headers, lists, and emphasized words.
con — It doesn't have a WYSIWYG mode like all the others. If you want to use formatting, you have to 1) enable Markdownn for that specific note, and 2) after typing some Markdown, click "Preview". All that is kind of confusing, and the "preview" thing seems like an extra unnecessary step.
