watch

I'm looking for a watch that:

• can be read at night (eg. lume, or Indiglo, or whatnot)
• isn't too cluttered, something that looks like the Timex Easy Reader
• I prefer an analog face to digits

readability at night

There are different ways a watch can be readable at night:

• Indiglo — Timex had a patent on this until 2008, but they're still the main (only?) brand that uses this
• "lume" — short for 'luminescence', this is aficionados' term for a glow-in-the-dark coating on the watch hands
• a digital watch that has electroluminescence
  • these are typically LCD displays
• smart watches produce a lot of light, by virtue of being an LED display, often with backlighting
• there are combination analog + digital watches, where the parts that are a LCD display can be electroluminescent
• lume can be implemented in other ways:
  • tritium

There are significant downsides though:

• smart watches — They're much more expensive than other options, and I want to avoid most of the "smart" features anyway (e.g. notifications, voice assistant, most things having to do with the phone)
• digital watches — The face is usually way too cluttered, though there are a few that don't look hideous.
• phosphorescent lume — This fades over time in the dark, and lasts somewhere between 30 mins and 8 hrs, depending on that manufacturer's coating.
  • Seiko brands some of its watches "LumiBrite" for having a particularly strong coating, though these watches range from $125 - 500
• tritium lume — expensive, pushing the cost of a watch to $100 minimum
• combination analog+digital watches — They're usually even more cluttered than even digital watches.
