You can get the official Microsoft files (like io.sys, msdos.sys, command.com, edit.com, fdisk.exe, ...) from these sources:
(note: Win95/Win98 boot disks count as MS-DOS v7.x)
- boot floppy images (extract files with WinImage)
- CD ISOs (extract files with 7-zip)
Note: when images are in .exe format, this is often the WinImage self-extracting format
- is there a good way to extract these on Linux?
- on Windows, you can use the WinImage Extract tool
