A copy of Linux with xoscope or similar. The version of Linux should be set up to directly boot into X without any user intervention, and run 1) a small app that displays the type of VGA card and sound card installed, and 2) runs xoscope. NO typing should be necessary.

If installed on a hard drive, it should be on a default read-only system so that we can turn the system off without a proper shutdown.o

There will be several audio cables provided, to connect the sound output to the sound input (either to the same card, or from another card on the stack).
