Chris and I made this smoke bomb. In the process of making it, I realized that doing it this way really sucks. Making the mixture more dense and homogenous is generally a good thing, and you get that with melting. But once it's melted, you can ONLY work with it while it's hot. It cools/solidifies very quickly, which means that you have to keep it near the [dangerous] heat as much as possible.

Working with materials while in a fine powder phase eliminates all of these problems.
