There are LOTS of warnings out there to not trim your own cat's hair at home. You can easily cut their skin, since 1) their skin is thinner than most, and 2) it's hard to know exactly where their thick coat ends and their body begins (as anyone who has bathed a cat can attest).
This product, as wonky as it looks, gets a lot of good reviews. You could probably build your own without toooooo much effort?
