My thoughts
- I've seen two-level beards, where one part of the beard is trimmed lower, while a main "core" part of the beard is trimmed longer
- I've seen fairly elaborate designs shaved/tweezed in beards or heads. This seems unnatural looking though (women spend a LOT of effort to look good, but usually they put their substantial effort into looking more natural, even though they could use that substantial effort to make themselves look really outrageous).
