I use the phrase "internalized binary" like one uses the phrases "internalized homophobia" or "internalized misogyny", to refer to instances where one internalizes the idea that the gender binary exists. However, it's not clear to me yet if this binary is bad, good, or somewhere in between.

It's an interesting take on non-binary behavior. I've previously thought of non-binary behavior as continuous (somewhere in the middle of the spectrum) instead of discrete (one side or the other), but this suggests you can be non-binary, but still discrete, by changing personas temporaly. That said, it's not entirely discrete, as Lola/Scratch sometimes describe themselves as leaning more androgynous than their normal personas suggest, but maybe that's just done as a giant mindfuck.
