Some positions I take on gender-neutrality that others might find extreme or surprising.
- gender of Jesus Christ
Well, the gender of any monotheistic god, really. Which gender are they? You can't pick just one, because doing that implies that one gender has primacy over the other. The only workable solution: monotheistic gods must be intersex and/or genderqueer.
The other solutions, of course, are to choose a polytheistic religion, choose a nontheistic religion, or be non-religious.
- androcentrism is RIFE in everyday language... it's actually quite hard (impossible?) to avoid it
I firmly believe that androcentrism is sexism. Subtle sexism, yes, but sexism nonetheless. Using universal "he" is the most common such problem, but androcentrism occurs in many other places, including "kingdom".
