- 775 ILCS 5/1-103 ("Illinois Human Rights Act"), as amended by Public Act 093-1078 (SB3186) (effective Jan 1, 2006) says:
"Sexual orientation: 'Sexual orientation' means actual or perceived heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, or gender-related identity, whether or not traditionally associated with the person's designated sex at birth."

Wow... see question 6 within link #2. It strongly suggests that non-binary presentations aren't allowed at work. Which... seems like it might (emphasis on MIGHT — it's definitely a gray area) be contradicted by the wording of the law.
