Flash video decoding is the main thing our older computers sometimes can't do, that customers really want to be able to do.

Flash v10.* releases have added support for hardware accelerated video decoding, and some other features, that have made video perform much better on Windows and Macs. Unfortunately, the Linux experience still sucks.

As a result, there have been a string of projects that have tried to improve Flash video performance on Linux.
