when I get back to the lab at FreeGeek, verify my proposed bug report on several physical machines (this will help Thomas M out, since otherwise he'd need to verify it on a wider range of [physical] hardware)
also check if I can get it 100% working with gPXE or not... for some reason, on VirtualBox, it can't finish sending the whole 'vmlinuz' file (see packet trace "C:\temp\PXELINUX_PathPrefix\gPXE_with_some_fixes.pcap")
install monkeyd (website, debian package) on a standalone minimal Debian install, and make sure I know how to configure monkeyd properly (use this documentation on installing )
then install monkeyd onto our official server (setting it up on port :8080)
steps finished
look into remastering the initrd, to try to get it to support httpfs or tftp or something
result: the stock v6.1.2 initrd ALREADY includes httpfs support
do a small-scale test with the "Slax as PXE server" boot option, as a basic feasibility test
result: I found a bug that prevents it from working with gPXE, however, I did get it booting via the VirtualBox BIOS's PXE functionality
