- if there's no chime when it first boots up, then that's an indication of a problem

- Plug a Firewire drive (either HDD or CD/DVD) in, and it's possible to boot off of it.

- Hold down either "C" or "Option" keys while booting up, to tell it to boot off of something else.

- use this Linux distro:
    http://penguinppc.org/about/intro.php#what

- use this LiveCD:
    http://www.finnix.org/

- to wipe the drive from the installer:
        - boot into the installer
        - when it comes up, choose Installer > Disk Utility

- Apple probably doesn't care if we install 10.3 on machines and sell them

- the place to start:
    - wipe every drive ourself
    - give out copies of the 10.3 installer

- if we do give out CDRs, MAKE SURE i'ts CLEAR that the CDs are NOT being sold
