Okay, they're more useful than I thought.
But where do you BUY them? They're trivial to steal, but we're an ethical organization.
Note: "Fake" milk crates are easy to buy at places like Office Depot and Bed Bath & Beyond. These are FAR weaker, and aren't standard-sized.
Standard dimensions
- square milk crate
- referred to as:
- "4 gallon" (4 jugs of milk)
- "16 quart"
- outside dimensions: 12 7/8" × 12 7/8" × 11" high (~30 liters, ~32 quarts)
- inside dimensions: 12" × 12" × 10.5" high
- rectangular milk crate
- referred to as:
- "6 gallon" (6 jugs of milk)
- "24 quart"
- outside dimensions: 18.75" × 12 7/8" × 11.5" high (~46 liters, ~50 quarts)
- inside dimensions: 17 7/8" × 11 7/8" × 10 1/8" high
