my preferred Android apps — home screen apps

I am very very picky about how my home screen app is configured.

• launcher replacement — Nova Launcher
• home screen animated background — Earth & Moon 3D Live Wallpaper
• widget used to label and organize things — Simple Text Widget (a very useful and configurable text label)
• (maybe) various custom-shortcut-creation apps

page organization

I put a lot of thought into how my pages are organized:

• three pages left — relaxing / zen games
• two pages left — casual games
• one page left — audio apps (podcasts, music, audio books), video apps (from TikTok to Netflix), and smart home / IoT apps (including the Google Lens shortcut)
• home page — the most-frequently-used apps
• one page right — where and when — apps related to the current location (Google Maps, weather, paid parking, bus tracker, GasBuddy), and apps related to the current time (calendar, timer apps, Pomodoro)
• two pages right — apps involved in spending money (Grubhub, Noodles and Co, etc) or transferring money (Venmo, CashApp, my bank, etc), and system settings apps (file manager, Tasker + MacroDroid, Zedge)
