- plugin manager — makes it much easier to install modules (note: requires you to have an FTP server running locally; on Ubuntu, proftpd is a decent choice)
- also on Ubuntu Jaunty, you have to make a symlink from /etc/drupal/6/sites/all/modules -> /usr/share/drupal/modules
