Wig color codes

• There are some color codes that are standard across brands. [1] [2]
• However, many brands have their own proprietary color codes.
• When there are two colors, or there are highlights, there can be some clues to this:
  • On this webpage, read the sections titled 'Color distribution' (including the table below the photos) and 'Designer variations'.
  • '/' can mean an even distribution of two colors.
  • 'T' can mean a color is located near the tips of each strand.
  • 'T' can also sometimes mean "two-tone"

Styling or modifying

• You can style the hair using a low-heat curling iron.
• It is possible to dye synthetic wigs, however, some places recommend you have a professional do this for you. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Different communities that use wigs

• Black women
• Married Jewish women, because some aren't allowed to show their hair to men other than their husband.
• Cosplayers, who sometimes do extensive dying and styling to a wig.
