• The service was originally known as "Read It Later". It rebranded itself as "Pocket" in April 2012. As the "read it later" name suggests, there are features to allow a user to maintain their own reading queue:
  • items can be moved from "My List" to the "Archive" after you finish reading it
  • you can favorite an item to prioritize it within a longer reading queue
• Pocket was acquired by Mozilla Corporation in February 2017.
  • Firefox comes bundled with Pocket by default
  • there are plans to open-source the Pocket server-side code (and Pocket already publishes a decent amount of code)
  • Pocket is beginning to integrate with Firefox Accounts
