My installer will be written in Perl, and it will have these features:


- it will have the red/green [OK]   [NOT OKAY]   status like what shows up during Linux booting

- it will not ONLY do the symlink stuff....  it will also check whether various things are installed
  or not   (for instance, on an Ubuntu box, it will check to see if some bare-minimum packages are
  installed that I always have installed)
