However, it has (IMHO) started to go too far lately.
Actual problems
- Synonyms are often matched, though this is sometimes not desired.
- avoid synonym-matching by adding a + in front of the word
- For a while, you could turn off ALL re-interpretation off by using double-quotes around a word. However, that stopped working at some point, and quotes only mean "take this somewhat literally, but not too literally".
- example: Searching for {"jump box"} used to only match pages that had "jump box" as two words, not one. Now, it includes pages that have "jump box" as one word or two.
- Workaround: {"jump box" -"jumpbox"}
