quick setup for Ubuntu

sudo apt-get install hdhomerun-config hdhomerun-config-gui vlc
hdhomerun_config_gui &

# hit the scan    ->>   button, pick your channel
# click the "view" button
#       (But make sure the "Program" drop-down is available. If this isn't available, you have inadequate receiption, and "View" won't work)

after you have it working

• list of channels available in Chicago
  • the webpage's "Digital channel" is what you actually use in the GUI's "channel" section, in the first step of tuning
  • the webpage's "Display channel" is what you use in the GUI's "program" section, in the second step of tuning
