I'm struggling to feel at home in some DVCS.... some things feel oddly foreign to me. I'm as open and accepting as I know how, but some things still feel alien.

Maybe there are some deeper differences here?

With distributed version control, the distributed part is actually not the most interesting part. The interesting part is that these systems think in terms of changes, not in terms of versions.

GAAHAHHH! Really? That's all it is?? YOU CAN DO THAT IN A NON-DVCS! Clearcase had merge-tracking a LOOOONG time ago. Yeah, it's awesome, but it isn't intrinsicly linked to DVCS's.
