- Firefox 3
- It was supposed to fix the memory problems, but I regularly get 500mb and sometimes 1gb of RAM use.
- One common answer is that extensions are what's causing the bloat. Specific things you can do:
- Start Firefox with firefox.exe -safe-mode, which disables all add-ons, and see if that reduces memory versus with-addons.
- Disable every add-on, then enable just one. After you've spent enough time browsing to be confident that the add-on you've enabled didn't cause the memory problem, enable the next one.
- memory-related extensions:
- RAMBack — no longer works with latest releases (what did it do in the first place?)
