Both of my rats are albino. Here are some tips on taking care of them.

• many albino rats go blind by mid-age, if not earlier
• albino rats are "dazzled" by bright light; their iris is basically ineffective, so they can't limit the amount of light hitting their retina
• albino rats take ~3 hours for their vision to become dark-adapted (while the average rat takes 30 minutes)
