a "first aid kit" of tools

That is — a few basic tools that might get many jobs started, even if it can't finish all of them, and even if it doesn't have the exact kind of screw or adhesive that you'd normally use.

Tools should be super versatile. What's included in the kit should be based on tasks you actually run across, not tasks you imagine you will.

List of things you might consider including in your kit:

• a multi-bit screwdriver, possibly one that's collapsible.
• a headlamp (or flashlight) along with long shelf-life batteries
• zip ties
• one 3M Command Hook and several extra Command strips
• duct tape, WD-40, and baling wire
  • a small roll of duct tape (I prefer outdoor-rated duct tape, along with some gaffer tape)
  • a WD-40 pen
  • a couple feet of steel wire, rolled up
  • superglue, gel type
  • Maybe some other versatile fast-set adhesive. Bob Smith Quik-Cure Epoxy? Polyurethane Krazy glue?

Things I'm a bit unorthodox on:

• Instead of a utility knife, I like a basic Morakniv knife. In addition to doing utility knife duties, it can also be used to carve wood and do bushcraft stuff, all at a price that makes it nearly disposable.
• Ideally, I could have a super light "hammer" that I would hit with a baton to do the work. There are a few existing hammers that I could potentially grind some weight off of: [1] [2]

And extra things I'd include because of my interests:

• 3mm utility cord and some good twine
