A lot of the designs I come across are actually papercraft models. Sure, they can be done with a laser cutter, but there's nothing special about them.

But then there are some models that can ONLY be done with a laser cutter:

Stellated Dodecahedron
kelp lampshades
papercut art (okay, obviously, this is usually done outside a laser cutter, but it's far easier to do inside a laser cutter)
