"I made this with a..." panels
I plan to make a series of rectangular panels, each manufactured with a different method. Each panel have one or two words on its face, describing how that panel was manufactured. The goal is to succinctly convey that I have a wide range of skills and interests.
The lettering should be the same font size, for consistency.
Above the set of panels, there will be a simple sign that says "I made this with a:"
- "chisel" — letters hand-carved into wood. Finish by staining the top surface, and leave the chiselled area unstained for contrast.
- "needle" — letters that have been cut out of a contrasting fabric color, and hand-stitched onto a background piece of fabric
- "anvil" — ??? How do you do lettering with blacksmithing?
- "etchant" — a copper-clad PCB, that has been etched to leave the words in copper. If possible, lay out something that looks vaguely circuit-ish within each letter, with parallel lanes used for infill
- "laser cutter" — clear plastic sheet, with the letters being negative space
- "vinyl cutter" — letters in negative space, in cut vinyl
- "3D printer" — not flat... sort of an isometric projection, with one word on the upper side of the cube, and the other word on the lower side of the cube
- "vacuum former" — thin plastic that has been vacuum formed to specific letters, on a mold of the letters (mold done in elastomer? Or wood?)
- "metal mill" — a block of aluminium, with the letters cut 1/4" deep with the milling machine
