I'm planning to teach the class a second time. Things that could be done better the second time:
- talk slower
- announce the class 2-3 weeks ahead of time — a week's notice isn't enough
- create an actual flyer — just to convey to people how much time I put into the class
- create a Facebook event — sometimes people want to invite their friends to the event, and that can't happen if you just do a post on your own wall
- class content improvements
- put a little more time into the handout pamphlet — put it in order, remove extraneous stuff, and make sure some important knots are there
- have the part of about knots a little better planned out, so I don't skip all over
- the term "slip knot" can refer to either a "sliding knot" or a "knot that has been slipped", and show the difference
- round turn and two half-hitches
- clove hitch ⇒ buntline hitch, constrictor knot
- lark's head ⇒ that cable-lacing knot; gets used in bondage a lot
- figure eight ⇒ Stevedore knot, figure eight follow-through
