hold delivery for local pickup
- Wait until the first delivery is attempted. The driver may (at their discretion) require a signature. In that case, if they can't get a signature, then they'll leave an InfoNotice number. (note: the InfoNotice number is different from the Tracking Number)
- Once you get your first InfoNotice number, you can go to the UPS website, enter the InfoNotice number, and a new option will pop up: Choose Another Delivery Option
- Click on that. Four options appear, you want the "Will Call: Hold the package for pickup at a nearby location" option.
- Alternatively, rather then using the website, you can call 1-800-811-1652 and do the same thing there.
- the phone line is open Mon-Fri, 7am to Midnight EST, Sat 7:30am to 9pm EST
- using the phone number, you can also ask to have them hold it BEFORE you get the first shipment, ie. you only need the tracking number, not the InfoNotice number
The nearest pickup to me is 1500 S Jefferson St, which is just south of the loop, and just next to the huge Amtrak/Metra train yard.
The Jefferson St hub has customer service hours Mon-Fri 8:00am-6:00pm; Sat-Sun: closed.
