- to do what you used to do in XP
- Shutdown, reboot, hibernate, standby
- Click on the "right arrow" on the far bottom-right corner of the Start Menu
(you may not want to use the main "power icon" to shutdown anyway — it's a new hybrid sleep feature that may be useful for the plebs, but not necessarily always for techies)
- Add/Remove programs
- Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
