- user rights model — Sort of like Linux's. You have to take some time to understand the underlying model, and sometimes have to do extra work to make it do what you want. But while normal geeks can handle this (possibly even prefer it), it's odd that Microsoft forced regular users to do all this extra work.
- You especially want to run cmd.exe as admin, since DOS-based apps usually don't pop up UAC dialogs, they just fail. Search for "command prompt", right click, choose "Run as Administrator". But it can be done in 6 keystrokes too.
- it may also be useful to use the elevate script (to install, unzip, and run the "InstallAllPowerToys.cmd" script)
- copying/deleting even one file is very slow — LOTS of issues
- Start > Power only puts the computer into "hybrid sleep".
- reparse points are used to provide backwards compatibility with My Documents folders
