House code "B"
Module
| XPMT1 timing
| Description
|
---|
Module "1"
|
| (reserved — used primarily within the XPMT1 to trigger its audio alarm)
|
Module "2"
| WakeUp-Phase1(b)
| Bedside lamp. Turned on at the same time as WakeUp-Phase1, but made separate so I can turn this one light on at
night without otherwise totally blinding myself.
|
Module "3"
|
|
|
Module "4"
|
|
|
Module "5"
| WakeUp-Phase1 (T-10min)
| The panoply of lights in my bedroom that go off in the morning in a herculean effort to rouse me from my slumber.
|
Module "6"
| WakeUp-Phase2 (T+10min)
| (eg. 1amp fan, and anything else that's appropriate)
|
Module "7"
| WakeUp-Phase3 (on:T+20min, off:T+30min)
| The pond pump. NOTE: Feel free to use this to trigger other things as well,
but note that this WILL/MUST BE turned off ~10 minutes after turning on, to avoid burning out the pump by running it on air.
|
Module "8"
| WakeUp-Phase4 (T+30min)
| reserved in case I need a last-resort phase... electrocution perhaps, or the 110db siren...
|
Note: T=0 is when the primary audio alarm goes off. That audio alarm is separate from the XPMT1 unit (and thus, it's possible they could be set for non-synchronized times if due care isn't taken)
Summary
- Appliance 120v plugs involved: 6 (not including intervening X-10 modules, power strips, extension cables, etc)
- Total light wattage: 300 watts
- Total fan wattage: 90 watts
- Total other wattage: 0 watts (for now)
- Having all this power trained on one sleeping person, and then adding water to the mix: Priceless!
TODO
- BUY MORE LIGHTS for WakeUp-Phase1!
- get a big powerful flourescent light to put atop my bookcase
- buy another of my "poor amateur photographer's lights", and put it by the bedside
- is there a more powerful (120v) bed-shaker?
- find a decent configuration for the pond pump
- first and foremost, I need some sort of nozzle that will make it more of a "squirt gun" than a "get one specific really-easily-avoidable-spot soaked, but leave the rest of the bed alone" effect
- just a normal bucket will work for the reservoir?
- How do we make sure that: 1) it gets as much coverage of the bed as possible (so it's not
possible to avoid it without stepping out), but 2) it doesn't actually get the wall wet, or more
importantly, doesn't hit all the lights/fans/etc surrounding the bed?

"I swear I'm going to move out if he keeps this up. Yesterday he was talking about a merry-go-round
version."
