Implementations of continuations vary greatly between languages.

Full continuations are "multi-shot continuations". That is, after the continuation is created, it can be triggered multiple times. (others call them "re-invocable" or "re-entrant" continuations)

Partial implementations are often "single-shot continuations". That is, after it's created, it can only be triggered once. (others call them "escape" continuations)
