- I will avoid all computer-based hobbies that I'd be able to also do at work if I were distracted,
and instead focus on non-computer hobbies such as high-voltage and normal electrical engineering,
reading books/magazines, bicycling, piano, car mods, etc etc etc.
- In particular, for the first three months (until April 1, 2008), I'll go cold-turkey on any
rapidly-updating site that I have tended to (or will) obsess over, at work AND at home. (sites
like Slashdot, Reddit, Digg, Wikipedia, and StumbleUpon) [see network_access.txt]
- I will find out if health insurance will begin paying for twice-weekly therapy sessions again
starting Jan 1. And if so, I'll attend therapy twice a week.
- I will do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to
1) wake up on time (including weekends)
2) go to bed on time
3) treat all appointments as practice for getting work-related commitments done on time
- I will make sure NO GAMES whatsoever are installed on any work computers.
(particularly not smaller offline games that I've started playing recently at PRP)
- Communications/availability:
- cellphone will always be charged, and never left in the car or at home
- email will be checked every two hours
- I'll never refuse to answer a call from my boss (out of fear)
- regardless of how late I arrive to work/meetings, I will never turn around and leave
