ways to navigate without a compass

(for speedrunning, mostly)

Possible indicators that can help you figure out where you're located:

• the lifepod beacon
• the front and rear of the Aurora
• the funny clouds obscuring the two islands
• the moon rises in the south and sets in the north (only visible during night-time)
• Besides the direction to the lifepod, you also know the distance to the lifepod. This lets you know you're somewhere on a large circle centered on the lifepod.
  • If you place any other beacons, you can know where you're located much more precisely.
• You can always navigate by paying attention to individual features on the bottom. Though this requires a fairly good memory.
