Sometimes it's important to check that a ground is wired properly. You may want to confirm your GFCI will work properly after installation. Or you may wish to ensure that your antistatic device will be able to function properly.

- You can short the hot to ground, and see if the breaker blows. However, if the breaker fails to blow, you'll be in a world of hurt. So DON'T DO THIS.
- You can short the hot to ground, THROUGH a 100W lightbulb. If it glows, you're good.
