  1. Adding spices to the water doesn't work.
  2. Just brown 2-3lbs of beef
  3. Dump it in the crockpot with 2cups of vinegar and fill to top with water
  4. Cook on high for 3 hours, or overnight on low.
  5. Don't keep on low for more than 36 hours without eating all of it (by 36 hours, even individual strips of meat won't be able to hold together)
  6. Add the fire AFTER cooking... Frank's RedHot sauce is good for slopping on it (it's somewhat dilluted Cayenne sauce)
