Notes about the Panasonic SR-TMB10.
TODO: look through other Panasonic model's .pdf manuals, to see if other manuals explain the "soup function" and other things better.
- The manual is opaque. This is okay if you're already familiar with rice cookers, but a problem if you're new. Other people online have agreed.
- It doesn't have a congee mode. however, is it possible to use one of the below modes?
- soup mode? The subtitle of the Sanyo ECJN100W seems to suggest that soup+porridge modes are interchangable?
Modes
How the different modes work.
- White rice mode (also use for mixed rice, glutinous rice)
The temperature sensor in the bottom waits for the temperature to rise to 100°C, this indicates that the water is now boiling. It then waits for the temperature to go above 100°C, this indicates that the water completely boiled off. At this point, it either switches off, or switches to the keep-warm mode.
- Brown rice mode
Manual page4 says that it always takes 1 hour. So how does it work then? I assume it still bases some decisions on the "finished boiling off all water" trigger?
- Soup mode
It automatically finishes. How does it know how long to cook for?? Page4 of the manula says it always cooks for exactly 1 hour?
- Cake mode
- Slow-cook mode
- Steam mode
