Pomacea bridgesii

• up to one snail per 2.5 gallons
• they can't survive below 10 C (50 F)
• will eat any dying vegetation and algae
• Their shells will be healthier if the water is calcium-rich
• copper and other tap-water minerals are very bad for them... treat the water with chemicals to remove metals first
• you need both a male and female snail for them to mate
• snails need to be removed over winter, any time the temperature drops below 50 degrees.
• below 65 F, their mortality rate quickly increases
• cost: maybe $5?
